With the new school building in Mels, the municipality has opted for a pioneering, modular timber construction method. The resource-saving construction impresses with its short construction time, high energy efficiency and flexible usage options. Thanks to prefabricated timber modules, the building can be easily extended as required, making a sustainable contribution to the educational infrastructure.

The approximately 1081 m2 school building has a cold roof with robust sheet metal covering and barrier-free access with a ramp and canopy. The connection to the existing district heating system ensures an efficient energy supply.

Automated systems for shading, heating and lighting reduce maintenance costs. The CO2-neutral timber construction creates a healthy indoor climate and a modern, functional learning environment.
