History
Our history goes back almost 100 years, when De Meeuw was founded in 1929. Since then, we have continued to develop and expand our expertise in the field of modular construction.
In 1991, the Dutch company De Meeuw began its activities in Switzerland with the aim of establishing a local presence. To achieve this goal and at the same time expand its expertise in the field of modular construction, De Meeuw acquired Hector Egger Holzbau, a company traditionally active in timber construction, in 2001 and established modular construction within the company. This step was accompanied by a repositioning and rebranding of the Swiss subsidiary, which was henceforth known as DMBAU. Under this brand, we established ourselves as a leading provider in the field of modular construction.
Due to fierce competition in its home market in the Netherlands, De Meeuw finally decided in 2022 to refocus its attention on the Benelux countries. As part of this process, all foreign branches, including DMBAUin Switzerland, were handed over to new investors. DMBAUis thus establishing itself as an independent, family-run company in order to continue offering innovative solutions in modular and timber construction and to guarantee our customers the highest quality and reliability.
