Construction time: 10 weeks

Year of construction: 2025

Architect: Roesti & Pereira

Area (m²): 152

Place: Bern

Characteristic: Execution as general contractor

A modern and functional sports changing room has been built for the school building, serving as high-quality temporary infrastructure. It offers students and sports clubs a reliable solution for their current space requirements while blending harmoniously into the existing environment. The facility is designed to offer maximum flexibility both in terms of its use and its subsequent relocatability.

Well-thought-out modular design with optimal space allocation

The cloakroom facility was constructed using a modular timber design and consists of five prefabricated modules and a supplementary timber element. A total of 135 m² of usable space is available. The layout has been carefully planned and includes spacious changing areas, comfortable wet rooms, a separate technical room, and a practical storage room. All areas are functionally designed and tailored to the requirements of school and sports activities. The facility is also impressive in terms of design: the color scheme is based on the existing air dome, while the striking yellow doors deliberately reference the adjacent school building. This creates a modern, uniform overall appearance.

High degree of prefabrication for quality and speed

Around 90 percent of the work was carried out at the factory in Oberriet. This high level of prefabrication enabled precise, efficient production that was not dependent on the weather. The cloakroom is designed for a service life of five to six years and is ideal as a durable, flexible, and easily relocatable temporary solution. On-site assembly took only four weeks, resulting in a total implementation time of around ten weeks, including factory production. The modular design ensured very fast implementation and minimal disruption to school operations.

Sustainable reuse and long-term added value

The new sports changing room is not only functional and high-quality, but also sustainable: after its period of use, the client will reuse the facility at another location. The facility thus demonstrates its high flexibility and cost efficiency. This reuse creates long-term added value that is both ecologically and economically convincing.
